This partially closes #26. It doesn't show or allow filtering based on categories, but it shouldn't be too hard for someone to add. Highlighting a certain event is perhaps a job for a seperate widget, and this give an example of how it could be done.
Please review this, I'm not a professional programmer! :) But it's working for my site.
