In the reference modal of the abstract editor remove the notice "Note: any DOI links differing from the 10.xxxxxx/journal.date.xx format will be post processed." and remove " e.g. 10.xxxxxx/journal.date.xx" from the DOI field placeholder text to avoid confusion.

I just realized, that now there is no indication about the DOI field at all. The placeholder text should at least contain the text "DOI" to let people know what that last textfield is about.
