I and my players happen to frequently delete powers or effects instead of clicking on the edit button. I think it should either require a double click or show a confirmation prompt.

Sure, I'll add a client side configurable option that allows users to toggle on/off a warning while deleting items.

Me implementing this now has nothing whatsoever to do with me entering all my players powers and accidently slipping the mouse from "edit" to "delete"
