I'd expect the slime body to be able to hold the needed CBMs in place, the same way it holds the other internal organs. You should have some control over that as a slime. (Note that I'm arguing here on the grounds of verisimilitude, not balance. I don't care about the balance here since I pretty much never get either post-thresh or CBMs for my own characters. Just the rationale isn't very convincing) Also, this should probably be tagged with "Balance" in the changelog and not None. |
Slime is particular anatomy-wise. The CBMs it could use are wildly dependent on what they are. For example, I could see one use the diamond cornea but not anything about the skeleton. Likewise, they could produce a pseudopod that uses the monomolecular blade or one of the finger CBMs, but couldn't benefit from digestive CBMs as they are now their entire digestive organ. IMO adding more incompatibilities would fit much better than a blanket ban. |
Surely they still have bones? They still break limbs, which still need splinting, right? There's certainly nothing indicating otherwise in any of the mutations. |
They have hollow bones but IIRC the limb system would allow slime mutants to have only one bodypart, as they are one giant cell that does everything our bodies do at once. |
Makes sense to me. Though what slime is and isn't is a bit unclear, considering the various descriptions of body parts moving, being one body part, and your nervous system being very different, I imagine CBMs would be wholly incompatible with slime. |

If I understand correctly, this is the only possible option for implementing a ban on bionics? (on the mutation side). In general, I'm in favor. But something confuses me, though at the level of feelings, I can not formulate.

Another Option is for limbification of Slime body so it's actually a single megalimb but that will require mainlining the Limb WIP mod and I honestly don't know if I have the time to do that, even though I think it would be the best outcome. |
While i agree that a cbm ban for mutants is nice balance wise, I feel it should only be done for post-threshold mutants since you become an unrecognizable human. Many of the pre-threshold just gives you some defining feature like stronger body or bigger hands. Maybe it could even tie up to the exodii not really wanting to talk to some mutated freak that has probably been effected by the blob |

Are there not at least a few CBMs that Slimes should be able to integrate on their own without surgery? Their bodies are just an amorphous blob of stuff that they're ostensibly aware of and able to control. Shouldn't they be able to hold basic non-human centric CBMs like power storage/generation in their body the same way we hold something in our arms? |
Yeah, & what about some easier CBMs? Like integrated welders & multitools? |
