PROJECT: Inventory digital identity & blockchain laws #114
Comments
May I assist with this project? I am based in west Africa, therefore I can begin my research there before venturing into other jurisdictions. |
@collinkinn is leading a project collecting and comparing legal definitions like digital asset, blockchain, digital signature, etc. It would be great to add to that from more countries, even it translated by Google. In particular the francophone legal traditions might be interesting. |
I am trying to capture as many commonly expressed "blockchain" words as possible, but the primary words for research right now: blockchain, digital asset, virtual currency, smart contract, and private key. While this list is certainly not exhaustive, I view these as a good starting place to compare the different definitions. |
Alright sir. Do I message him to get started?

A good project for non-engineering interns, in particular those with library science or pre-law eduction.
Discover and compare different US state & international laws in regards to digital signatures, digital identity, and blockchain-related technologies, and create an open source repository with catealogue.
We have some practicing lawyers that are likely to be able to mentor on this project, and there are opportunities to influence legislation in Wyoming, Texas, Argentina, and more in the coming year.
