Detailed resultsAll benchmarks are run on txs on the This benchmark source data is available in JSON format on S3 here. Values are compared against data from master at commit L2 block published to L1Each column represents the number of txs on an L2 block published to L1.
L2 chain processingEach column represents the number of blocks on the L2 chain where each block has 16 txs.
Circuits statsStats on running time and I/O sizes collected for every circuit run across all benchmarks.
Tree insertion statsThe duration to insert a fixed batch of leaves into each tree type.
MiscellaneousTransaction sizes based on how many contracts are deployed in the tx.

This is super cool. The frontier tree is fascinating. I have a bunch of (highly) opinionated nits, feel free to ignore !

Instead of updating individual slots at the time we transition to a new state, we can build trees of messages ahead of time, and move just the roots of the trees (in L1 storage). | ||

We can use the last index inserted a leaf at to figure out how high up the frontier we should start. | ||
Then we know that anything that is at the right of the frontier have not yet been inserted, so all of these values are simply "zeros" values. |

Very nice and thorough writeup! I don't see any issues with the design and Esau seem to have caught all the grammatical issues so feel free to merge once you address his comments. Frontier tree is very cool.
