Cascader custom trigger not working

Steps to reproduce

1. click on tag to open the cascader
2. get error message "Cannot read properties of undefined (reading 'createElement')"

What is expected?

Cascader opens as expected

What is actually happening?

Cascader does not open, instead we get the error: "Cannot read properties of undefined (reading 'createElement')"

Workaround is to wrap a tag or button component with <a>
