The Flatten tool generates a pocketing region using a different approach:

bCNC Plugins Flatten 1

  • X-start & Y-start are relative to your WCS
  • Width is the X dimension of the area to be flattened
  • Height is the Y dimension of the area to be flattened
  • Depth is the Z dimension to be flattened (must be negative)
  • Raster Border will cause a new cut around the perimeter of the area to be flattened the is aproximately half the width of the cutting tool
  • Pocket Type may be either:
    • Raster : create a Zig-Zag path from a corner to the opposite
    • Offset : create a series of bigger rectangles starting from the center

Target depth is reached with maximum step as defined in the Stock material from material database .

The path tries to maintain the desired Stepover % as defined in the EndMill
