compiling with font config

Hi, I compiled visit 3.1 with build_visit but when run I got:
> visit
Running: gui3.1.0
Qt: Warning: QFontDatabase: Cannot find font directory
/home/reynaldo/opt/visit-comp/3.1.0/linux-x86_64/bin/lib/fonts.
Note that Qt no longer ships fonts. Deploy some (from
http://dejavu-fonts.org for example) or switch to fontconfig.

And visit shows no letters

When I run build_visit --help I do not see an option about fontconfig. How
can I build with fontconfig support?

solution from a previous user with the same issue:

I've also discovered that the original 3.0.1 release, the one for Redhat Enterprise Linux 7.5, works
on Fedora 26 if one compiles and installs the ICU library version 50, and creates the proper
symlinks to the various libicu*.so.50 files inside the linux-x86_64/lib directory.
So this could be a solution too.
