Distributing the app through Snap Store/Flathub or AppImages would make it easier to download and run the miner throughout various Linux distros and guarantee it will behave mostly the same on all distros. However I'm not sure if the sandboxing would limit the app's functionality, or if it would even be allowed on the app stores.
AppImages seem the most plausible as they are just binaries bundled with all the dependencies and behave just like executables on Windows. There is also no central store, meaning they can be distributed freely for everyone to download.
Snapcraft is the default app store for Ubuntu, the most popular desktop Linux distro. However, most (if not all) other desktop distros only support Flatpak out of the box. Choosing one app store over the other wouldn't be much beneficial, but on the other hand, choosing both might be time consuming and counterintuitive.
Would it be possible to see VertcoinOCM released either in an app store or/and as an AppImage?

If someone is willing to write this functionality and open a pull request then sure. I don't have the bandwidth to work on this. I'll mark it as a feature request.
