Azure AI BYOD

Hello all,
Does the AI SDK have an option to pass AI Search index parameters to leverage the BYOD for Azure AI? I think I could use the middleware in the AI SDK to call the AI Search index, but I want to make sure that I can correlate what documents were used for what using citation numbers like the Azure solution.

If you want to take the middleware approach, you can use providerMetadata to pass custom information.

Thanks @lgrammel! Do you have an example on how this could be implemented? Below is what I have created for the AI SDK:
