Make the citation links go to the DOI links #334
Comments
Linking straight to the DOI would be a mistake, as the link might not always work and then there'd be no trace of what we were referencing. changeset:e3a63fba4f/fipy switched to [https://github.com/mcmtroffaes/sphinxcontrib-bibtex sphinxcontrib-bibtex], which relies on [http://pybtex.sourceforge.net pybtex]. The [http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~ero-sennin/pybtex/trunk/view/head:/pybtex/style/formatting/unsrt.py#L418 development version of pybtex] renders DOIs, but I can't get this to work with [https://github.com/mcmtroffaes/sphinxcontrib-bibtex sphinxcontrib-bibtex] right now: mcmtroffaes/pybtex-docutils#3. We should keep an eye on [https://github.com/mcmtroffaes/sphinxcontrib-bibtex sphinxcontrib-bibtex] and update the documentation when this problem is fixed. Turns out I didn't have the [http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~pybtex-devs/pybtex/trunk absolute latest of pybtex]. With everything at the bleeding edge, DOIs get rendered properly as links. Pull request:

Remove http://www.ctcms.nist.gov/fipy/documentation/refs.bib_cited.html and simply go straight to the DOI line where possible or at least provide the link alongside the listings.
