Hello, I was able to find this information "In general, DT_ATMOS depends on the horizontal resolution of the grid. The finer the grid, the smaller it needs to be to avoid numerical instabilities." This was found here: https://dtcenter.org/ufs-short-range-weather-srw-practical-session-guide/session-2/3-defining-custom-regional-esg-grid. I have reached out to our SMEs, and if I find out any more information regarding this paramater I will let you know. Thanks, |

@mkbenneh DT_ATMOS is the timestep for calculating atmospheric dynamics in seconds. It does not have direct influence on creating the grid, but in general for higher resolution grids, you should use a smaller DT_ATMOS to avoid CFL conditions. |

I would like to understand further how DT_atmos parameter in creating a grid works.
