Can confirm this now works partly with 2021.11.3.
Tested yesterday with a grid connect bunnings smart power point. Long term statistics isn't working as there isn't a Total Consumption so it can't be added to Energy .
Only Current, power and voltage sensors exist.

To be more clear, a Wifi connected Universal IR Remote added to Tuya as Others>Universal Remote Control works if you create a Scene (Tap-to-Run>Run the Device) for each button....

The scenes trick is great for IR remoting, but otherwise it's a very tiring task. The IR Remote interface in the app itself needs some revamp, since you can't "design" custom remotes, can't even reorder buttons, not to mention you can't backup/copy remotes, so if you have the same model in multiple rooms, you have to configure it all over again, multiple times.

First-class IR support in HA (activating buttons directly instead of using scenes) would be good addition to all that, I'd say.

I see in the Tuya web debugger that the IR-based "virtual devices" show as follows, all of them at the qt category:

• custom IR controller: 红外其他-学习功能
• TV: 红外电视
• fan: 红外风扇

The actual IR-wifi bridges are also qt, named 智能红外遥控器.
