For a future version, if possible at all.

Make the ability to count the number of similar items in another parameter.

Perhaps it could check the 'Name' parameter and count the number of duplicate items, for example.

I don't think the benefit outweighs investment on this.
That is essentially what block manager does isn't it?

H Tim,

In case you ever circle around back to this (I know you said you haven't been maintaining) this "Count" option by checking exact matches for bounding box size would be super useful, especially to create a Cut List or Schedule for objects that aren't Blocks.

that can be done but it's a narrow use case with too much back-end compute. the reason behind not incoporating this is similar to that of Rhino not doing Brep shape duplicate checks.
