I will not be updating the image with the current production NordVPN 3.16.0. In my tests, my token was being deleted from the Nord account console after container restart. Stability was regained by reverting to 3.15.5.
I opened an issue with NordVPN and it was revealed that there is a new parameter
--persist-token
, however, it is only available on executing logout. Thus, where the container does not exit cleanly and is not preceded by an explicit logout with the persist token parameter will result in a deleted/revoked token. I've also learned that username and password have been deprecated (at least in the Linux client; not sure for how long as 3.15.5 also displays the error - I've used token for ages).I have made some significant and breaking changes in an attempt to account for these revelations in the latest RC for 3.16.0. Most notably, USER & PASS/PASSFILE are no longer supported - TOKEN is the only viable authentication method for 3.16.0.
As ever, I will monitor for client updates and endeavor to integrate stable versions.
