Use layout field from tt_content

Currently the layout field from tt_content elements is excluded from subtypes list.

Why is it done this way? I can`t find any arguments for this.

Since TYPO3 7 the layout field is heavyly used to style things in the frontend, e.g. alternating background colors or intenting blocks etc. pp

Please readd the layout field to TCA Configuration. It is excluded in ext_tables.php by these lines:
$TCA['tt_content']['types']['list']['subtypes_excludelist'][$_EXTKEY . '_pi1'] = 'layout,select_key'; $TCA['tt_content']['types']['list']['subtypes_excludelist'][$_EXTKEY .
