I have been using FileLink Provider for Box and it is buggy. I read reviews of TBird Send and it sounds great. I just installed it. When I write a message there is a grayed out TBird send in the upper right next to the Attach pull down. When I roll over it, it says to attach a file to get started. I do that and the TBird send remains grayed out until I actually send the message. When I send the message it lights up while the message is being sent. However, the received message simply has the attached file. And if I try to send a large file, it gives me a warning that I should link it.
I am unclear if TBird send is sending a link or what it is doing.
Please advise.

Thanks for trying the add-on. You would need to follow the regular procedure for using the FileLink feature in Thunderbird, which includes clicking that "Link" button you mentioned after adding a large attachment. As with all FileLink provider add-ons, this extension does not do anything automatically. Please see the official documentation for more information.
That "Thunderbird Send" compose action popup (the toolbar button) is not currently used by default, but you could enable it by going to the options page and checking the "Use compose action popups" checkbox. However, I am planning to release an update in a couple of weeks that will enable it by default. Note that users should generally not need to click this button, as the popup should automatically open when starting the linking process.
