What steps will reproduce the problem?

  1. Create script
    1. Run Profile What is the expected output? What do you see instead? I expect to see the results in the widget but it stays blank and the Output button is grayed out.

However, the profiler.results in WinPython-64bit-3.3.2.3\settings.spyder2 is being modified after the profiler running. What version of the product are you using? On what operating system? WinPython 64bit 3.3.2.3
Python 3
Windows 7
Spyder 2.3.0dev6

This is a very annoying problem I have examined it a bit and fixed it for python 3, not yet confirmed the implementation for other. I have made a pull request see: https://bitbucket.org/spyder-ide/spyderlib/pull-request/52/fixes-the-profiler-for-python-3-issue-1628/diff
