Reported by stonebig in WinPython discussion group: https://groups.google.com/d/msg/winpython/F15tFUnaLek/-5JzeBJ3suAJ Procedure :

  • open the following python scripts with spyder,
  • select "launch under current python interpreter".

** for "test_he_full.py", this is a "\U" in the header comment which contains a \U that kills my treatment
(I fear it came by 'normal' default header of spyder, which cause a syntax error if winpython is installed under "c:\Users")

File "C:\Users\parent\Desktop\winpython\test_he_full.py", line 8

"""

SyntaxError: (unicode error) 'unicodeescape' codec can't decode bytes in position 102-103: truncated \UXXXXXXXX escape

* for "test_he.py", I remove this header comment and I get the other issue already mentioned in the forum,so I hope corrected*
("Hé" instead of "Hé")

Python 3.3.2 (v3.3.2:d047928ae3f6, May 16 2013, 00:03:43) [MSC v.1600 32 bit (Intel)] on win32
Type "help", "copyright", "credits" or "license" for more information.

runfile(r'C:\Users\parent\Desktop\winpython\test_he.py', wdir=r'C:\Users\parent\Desktop\winpython')
Hé

Attachment: test_he.py test_he_full.py
