What steps will reproduce the problem?

  1. In nautilus, right click a .py file and "open with > Spyder".
    1. Then repeat that process for another file in Nautilus. What is the expected output? What do you see instead? I expect the second file to open in the existing open instance of Spyder, but instead it opens the .py file in a new instance of Spyder.

I am using Spyder version 2.19 on an up to date Ubuntu 12.04 installation.

I believe this feature is only available in 2.2.0+

Alright. Would you possible know how I can install the most recent stable version of Spyder on Ubuntu 12.04?

Nevermind. I just downloaded the source and did a "sudo setup.py install" which fixed the issue.

Thanks for creating Spyder! I simply love it!
