Spyder Version: 2.1.9
Python Version: 2.7.3
Qt Version: 4.8.1, PyQt4 (API v2) 4.9.1 on Linux

The MimeType line in /usr/share/applications/spyder.desktop must be:
MimeType=text/x-python;
so other applications on the system know that spyder is an application that knows how to deal with python sourcefiles, and Ubuntu's desktop can be set to open Spyder when the user doubleclicks on a .py file

Unfortunately this would open an Spyder window for every python file opened, something which could broke how Spyder works internally.

So before doing this, issue #466 has to be solved first.
