Steve Karg, an experienced BACnet® product developer, has provided open source BACnet® contributions for many projects over the years. Steve created the a BACnet Stack library in C in 2004 and continues to provide features, bug fixes, and product development support, as well as managing contributions to the library. Steve manages the continuous integration workflow to run unit tests, quality scans, and build variations to ensure a high quality library.
Steve uses Extreme Programming and Personal Software Process key practices to develop high quality and maintainable software. Steve is an active BACnet standing standards project committee member, participating in several working groups, including Testing (BTL), Objects and Services, MS/TP, and Lighting Applications.
Steve earned BSEE and MSCIS degrees and has many years of embedded software engineering experience developing successful products.
I can set aside time each available weekend to work on securing the BACnet Stack library. The library was audited a few years ago and many core functions were deprecated and replaced with secure functions. However, many of the examples, demostrations, and basic encoders and decoders have not been updated to use the secure functions.
