Toggle sort_when_creating on-the-fly

In some situations I find it useful to be able to toggle sort_when_creating on-the-fly. I have done this in an extension of the trait (which I'm lugging around from project to project) like this:

trait SortableTrait
{
    protected static bool $sortWhenCreating = true;

    public static function disableSortWhenCreating(): void
    {
        static::$sortWhenCreating = false;
    }

    public static function enableSortWhenCreating(): void
    {
        static::$sortWhenCreating = true;
    }

    // Existing method
    public function shouldSortWhenCreating(): bool
    {
        // Added this condition
        if (static::$sortWhenCreating === false) {
            return false;
        }

        return $this->sortable['sort_when_creating'] ?? config('eloquent-sortable.sort_when_creating', true);
    }
}

Would this be something to include in the package? I'm happy to supply a PR, but I'm asking first before putting in the work.
