correction.py to supported regular expressions

would it be possible to have correction.py supported regular expressions? ie, s/.*/something to replace everything in last line

This was avoided in the past for a few reasons:

1. To avoid confusing non-technical users
2. To avoid possible performance/DoS issues as more complicated regular expressions (though this was never confirmed to be a legitimate issue)

For the first one, maybe a certain flag at the end or a different prefix could be used to separate the two implementations, for the latter I'm not sure. It needs to be load tested and audited though
