Modifications Regarding the Horizontal Landscape Mode
The removal of LEGO's previous WeDo software from the app store has left mobile users unable to access it. As a workaround, a set of building blocks in horizontal landscape mode was developed based on Scratch. At first glance, this seemed like a promising solution. Scratch not only supports the horizontal mode but also incorporates the functions of WeDo, which was quite exciting.
However, the actual user experience has been far from ideal. The horizontal mode is rife with bugs, and a significant number of features available in the vertical mode are missing. For instance, there are no diamond - shaped blocks for making logical judgments, nor circular blocks representing variables. Moreover, the usability of the blocks is severely hampered. You can't drag other blocks inside a block, and even if you manage to do so, the outer block won't adjust its length to fit the inner one. Blocks with multiple parameters can only handle one, and the block - snapping function is extremely unreliable. They often fail to snap together, or they snap in the wrong place. Sometimes, when you insert a block into a loop - shaped block, the previously snapped - in blocks just fly out.
we've managed to address some of the most critical issues. The current state, which includes improvements in multi - variable operations and the snapping function, is shown in the figure below. We're eagerly looking forward to the official team further enhancing and perfecting the building blocks in the horizontal mode. Your efforts would be highly appreciated.
