Grants! #38
Comments
@jupyterlab-accessibility We should def check into the Chan Zukerberg grant! Here are some links to grants I think we should look into as well: https://www.grants.gov/web/grants/view-opportunity.html?oppId=331191 https://www.grants.gov/web/grants/view-opportunity.html?oppId=331702 https://www.grants.gov/web/grants/view-opportunity.html?oppId=330328 https://www.grants.gov/web/grants/view-opportunity.html?oppId=330324 https://www.grants.gov/web/grants/view-opportunity.html?oppId=330452 https://www.grants.gov/web/grants/view-opportunity.html?oppId=330521 |
What kind of business is JupiterLab? A lot of these grants look like they're for governments and 501(c)3s |
The grant could go through a number of organizations. Numfocus is the fiscal steward of jupyter and it's a nonprofit I believe. Also it could go through 2i2c possibly, which is also a non profit. |

I wanted to collect a few resources for grants here I just found, until we have a place to put them in the Jupyter repo.
Microsoft has a relevant grant:
The ford foundation just gave a bunch of grants for improving accessibility of open source, but I am not sure if any might apply to us: https://www.fordfoundation.org/the-latest/news/major-philanthropies-tackle-inequality-by-strengthening-how-open-source-code-is-developed-and-maintained/
Then there are the Chan Zuckerburg Initiative open-source grants which we have gotten before for JupyterLab and could be a good target!
