Crashing with "too many re-renders" on 3.68.0

Describe the bug

After upgrading from 3.67.1 to 3.68.0 I get frequent crashes when I open documents in the Studio.

To Reproduce

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

Upgrade to 3.68.0, open a document in the studio.

Expected behavior

No crash. Downgrading back to 3.67.1 yields no crash.
