Org-mode provides a very convenient way of editing plain text tables within Emacs. The table syntax is frustratingly close to the one of Markdown. See http://stackoverflow.com/questions/14275122/editing-markdown-pipe-tables-in-emacs and jgm/pandoc#519.
What about making Blackfriday parse the '+' sign? (Either at the intersection, or instead of any pipe.)
This is a very specific request, but the fix would be just as simple. Or else do you know a pleasant way of editing plain text tables?
