It would really help my reading impaired daughter if the language selection menu could be extended with national flags, so that she could choose between English and Danish without needing to read the text.

do you know of any free icon pack for language flags?

Nope, I'd have to google... I guess the KDE resources have one, as their "Regional Settings" applet has flags in it.

I am unsure of the licensing of these, but on the kde store there are multiple packs of flags
