This is a somewhat complex set of sub-projects, but basically, we want to be able to:

  1. go to a place, shown on a page like https://mapknitter.org/miami (for say, the city of Miami) and see a map of that place
  2. show all the images uploaded within the area shown.
  3. at larger zoom levels, we might only show markers, but at closer-in zoom levels, we'd see individual images using the https://github.com/publiclab/Leaflet.DistortableImage/ library as we do while editing maps.

Below the map, we'd show other information, as we're brainstorming in #327 . Let's break this up to see what we'd have to do!

So per my understanding,
Currently the images uploaded only show up if we go to the corresponding map, and there is no 'one big map' that can fetch from all images uploaded across the different maps on MapKnitter.

So a system similar to google maps, in which if you zoom into an area and click 'Explore Imagery', you are shown all the pictures relevant to that area in a bottom bar. Is that roughly the requirement?
