Any suggestions on how to implement a simple "Loading..." message that is shown until the chart is finished rendering?

I'm rendering about 1,000 points on the scatter plot and the delay is significant enough that the user should see some kind of message so they don't think the app is frozen due to an error.

We have never implemented that, although I can definitely see the use case. I'm not really sure what the best way to go about this would be. Open to suggestions!
