Trying to upload same files with no changes..

I use ownCloud to sync files between my PC and Pandora handheld device. These are usually Game saves etc. which I don't want to loose or get corrupted.

My PC uses ownCloud version 1.5.3 and the Pandora uses 1.5.0.2.

It tries to upload the same 3 zip files every minute from my PC which in turn causes the Pandora to download the files and upload them again. It does this continuously until I turn ownCloud off. If I turn the Pandora off the PC just keeps syncing them with the server.

I've tried removing the files from both devices and the server and then adding them back again but it didn't help. It just seems stuck in a loop and fixated with these 3 files.

Anything I can do to sort it out from this end?

I've just had a couple of precondition failed errors with two of the zip files.
I removed both files from my sync folder and one of them deleted from the server ok but the other one re-downloaded from the server into my sync folder again instead of being deleted from the server and then threw up another precondition failed error :(

if the sync client constantly uploading this file have you checked:

Could be also a bug in the sync client? The issue tracker is located here: https://github.com/owncloud/mirall/issues/

I believe the precondition failed is when both try uploading the same file at exactly the same time ?

What server version of ownCloud are you using ?

Is the Pandora handheld an ARM device ? How are you running the sync client on that device ? Did you compile it yourself or were there packages available ?

Sorry, been busy the last 6 days and forgot to respond to this.

The main problem seems to be between the desktop and the server though. Although the Pandora does also try to upload files that are already there.
The Pandora tries to upload full folders, whereas the desktop just seems to get stuck looping on the last couple of files that have been uploaded.

Some news regarding precondition failed: can you check if your logs contain entries that look like "Expected filesize X got Y" ?
If yes, then maybe some of the uploads were aborted and triggered a known bug: #9523
You could try applying that patch or wait for 6.0.5 to come out.

If the issue does still happen on OC8 with the new client 1.8, please open a new issue
