Expected behaviour

When i connect via WLAN with proxy enabled, i will connect to a ownclound instance

Actual behaviour

I get a timeout and the server cant be reached (no access in the webserver log)

Steps to reproduce

Connect via WLAN
Set a Proxy (In the Android WLAN Settings)
Maybe block all traffic direct to the internet (In this location, a proxy is mandatory for internet connection)

Environment data

Android version: 4.1.2

Device model:
Galaxy S3 GT-9300

Stock or customized system:
Stock
ownCloud app version:
1.4

ownCloud server version:
5.0.x

Logs

No logs

My assumption is, that the app don't use the proxy at all, because on 3G oder 2G Connection it all works

I have a very similar problem. No connection to my owncloud through the WLAN. But I'm not using a proxy.
der2of6, if you tried this anywhere without a proxy and it worked, please tell me, so I can open an extra bug report.

When I connect through 3g, everything works. When I'm using WLAN, the connection to the server can't be established. Nothing even shows up in the server log.
Opening my owncloud with a browser works with WLAN. The desktop-client in the same network works as well. So I guess it is not a simple connection problem, but I will try different WLANs and report back.

Environment data

Android version: 4.4.2

Device model:
Motorola Moto G

Stock or customized system:
Stock
ownCloud app version:
1.5.2 (F-Droid version)
also tested: 1.5.0 and 1.5.1

ownCloud server version:
6.0.1 (on lighttpd)
also tested: 6.0.0

@der2of6 , could you try a more recent version of the ownCloud app? 1.5.3 is the last one available.

@Scumpeter , do you have the same error: connection timeout?

Sometimes connection timeout, but most of the time only auth_wrong_connection_title.

And: I just tested the sync on another WLAN. Works just fine. So my guess is, this is no problem with the client for me, but rather some weird filtering from my ISP. I will try to sort that out (may take some time). If it turns out to be an OwnCloud-Problem after all, I will report back.

The first point: WLAN without Proxy works for me (Tested Galaxy S3 and Moto G)
The problem with the Proxy on WLAN still exists.

Thanks, @der2of6 . A new thing to review then, problems with proxies.

@der2of6 , proxy support is now in the 'develop' branch' and will be available in the next release of the Android app, probably 1.6.2.

@Scumpeter , please, test with the current version (1.6.1); if your problem persists, please open a new issue; yours seems not related to proxy.
