There are quite a few other discussions regarding autolink pattern matching. This issue would be solved probably by any one of those but if performance has been a concern for those ideas my issue could perhaps be solved more simply with support for case sensitivity in autolink references.
In my (generalized) situation we have a Jira project called EXA and a hyphenated GitHub repo called exa-mple and so anytime the repo or project itself is referenced an autolink is matched and creates a dead link into Jira, e.g.
example.atlassian.net/browse/EXA-mple
Ideally my autolink prefix would respect character case to avoid this.
