As an expansion of #242, and at the suggestion of @abstractionfactory in this Slack thread:
I think a slightly more advanced tool would be to create a standalone version that runs the full stack locally. (Ours is open source, Terraform's is not.) The code to index a provider is located here: https://github.com/opentofu/registry-ui/tree/main/backend/internal/providerindex This falls into the category of provider author enablement and I think we should have a discussion about all the tools provider authors need.
