Hey all. I am wondering if OpenTelemetry would like to use the Google Season of Docs to move a documentation project or two forward this year. The Season of Docs is NOT like Summer of Code in that it emphasizes bringing experienced tech writers to a project. Summer of Code is a cool way to build experience in newer developers, but Season of Docs is more focused on getting the measurable outcome for the open source project.
We (Lion’s Way) have worked with several open source projects through the years, particularly in the Kubernetes ecosystem: Kubernetes, Istio, and Knative in particular. We love the work and feel that we have an impact in helping people better contribute to the projects. Most recently we put together onboarding content for Kubernetes that helps new contributors find resources.
One thing we like about working with open source projects is that we do best when we come in with humility. We don’t have all the answers but we have some experience that can empower the community to form with the collective wisdom. That said, *is there a need that we can work on this year that will help position OTel for the future?
