Can't access federated share

I just created a federated share with current master. Creating the share works successfully but if the recipient tries to open it I get this error message:

Mmmm so.

1. If the remote server returns a 500 we should handle it a bit more graceful I guess
2. We need the other logfile to figure out why it threw the 500 ;)

@rullzer I'm having a similar problem though I can tell you why the other server returns a 500 in my case. It's because the other server has been decommissioned. Which seems to have been a common problem that has cropped up but there's no solution I can find aside from erasing it from the database:
