Summary

• This week, we made good progress on the ETH connector, finished contract runtime API additions to support the EVM contract, upgraded the EVM contract to the latest upstream VM version, and continued work on the EVM Bully stress-testing tool.
• Next week, we are planning to test the ETH connector prototype, finish a first prototype of the EVM Bully stress-testing tool, and validate the revamped EVM architecture using the Balancer and/or Anemone test suites.

• Worked on an EVM release proposal to be presented on the forum.
• Worked on the ETH connector with Kirill & Evgeny U.

Arto

• Continued work on the EVM contract, debugging the Balancer tests.
• Added ECRecover support to nearcore's Math API, figured out the protocol upgrade and debugged runtime-params-estimator. (#3954)
• Collaborated with Alex on the EVM release proposal to be posted to the forum.
• Listened in on the last two Ethereum Core Devs Meetings regarding Berlin HF and London HF plans.
  • Bottom line: earliest April 14 and July, respectively.

Evgeny

• Worked on the ETH connector with Alex & Kirill
  • Almost completed a prototype contract, blocked on compilation issues.
• Planning to test the connector next week with Kirill.

Frank

• Out sick today, will post his EVM Bully update later today.
• Working on replaying Eth1 transactions via our Web3 RPC endpoint.
• Working on migrating genesis state prior to EVM Bully runs.

Joshua

• Watched all intro videos in the onboarding guide.
• Worked through all EVM tutorials and materials in the onboarding guide.
• Feeling ready for assigned tasks next week.

Discussion

Roadmap overview and changes

• Descoped Berlin HF support from our Q1 roadmap, given that the Eth1 mainnet schedule has slipped a couple months more in that regard.

• No need to push our pet EIP for London.

EVM contract nETH support

• ETH connector repository
  • Implements NEP-141, etc.
