How to stay alive and read new incoming messages

Hi there,

I'm playing around with the Read_Single_Email_Loop.ino for a small school project, so I've only entered the basic parameters (WiFi, host etc.) into the script, so I hope it's ok if I am not posting it here. The board is an Arduino Nano ESP32.

When I boot the Nano, I can see all the emails that have been sent to the mailbox. However, if I send a new e-mail to the mailbox, it will not be displayed unless I reboot the Nano.

As far as I understand the Script this should work out of the box, right? If not, what do I have to do that the Read_Single_Email_Loop.ino will continuously look for new eMails?

Any help is highly appreciated as it is a school project :-D

Hi,

thank you so much!! with this example I got it up and running and I am closer to my school project - perfect. But now I am facing another issue: Sometimes emails arrive in the mailbox but are not processed by the script, it seems to be completely random. Is there a kind of fallback function which I could call like after 1 minute get all emails which are unseen or something like this? Sorry for asking probably dumb questions, I am pretty new to MC‘s :-)

It depends on your internet condition.

Sometimes the internet is not available, the push notification will not arrive.

With the good internet, this feature will work normally which it works in the same way as the mail app notification when the new message arrived because it is implement the same technology that IMAP protocols provided.

The new message will be notified as long as this function still be executed in loop without interruption or blocking by your other codes.
