Intro to Windows Package Manager | Open at Microsoft

Hi everyone! This is Demitrius Nelon, the Product Manager of Windows Package Manager.
I had the honor of appearing as a guest on the third episode of Open at Microsoft to talk about Windows Package Manager!

Open at Microsoft is a weekly show for open-source enthusiasts. It features a diverse group of guests including maintainers, software and DevOps engineers, and community members who come together to share their insights on an open-source project-- Like Windows Package Manager!

In this first episode on WinGet, I give a brief overview of what Windows Package Manager is and talk a little about some of the basic commands. In this episode, I'm using Widows Package Manager 1.3.

Windows Package Manager will be coming back for future episodes of Open at Microsoft so stay tuned!
In future episodes, we'll be covering what's new in WinGet 1.4 and we're also hoping to get some community members featured on this show as guests too so please stay tuned!

WinGet 1.4 was released to Windows 10 and Windows 11 on January 23rd, 2023. In this video we will be demonstrating the new support for packages inside of .zip archives. We're also introducing the native PowerShell cmdlets available at Release Windows Package Manager 1.4.10173 | microsoft/winget-cli | GitHub.
