Typewriter feature - again #151558
Comments
/duplicate there is already an issue about virtual space. |
Thanks for creating this issue! We figured it's covering the same as another one we already have. Thus, we closed this one as a duplicate. You can search for similar existing issues. See also our issue reporting guidelines. Happy Coding! |
@hediet did you mean this one #13960 ? Please read or take a look at the gif, it's completely different thing... Maybe I should not describe it as 'virtual space' in order not to confuse with feature mentioned in that ticket. That one is about ability to select (and copy) text in the editor like it was filled with spaces past the written text in line. My FR is about positioning, same thing? |

Issue Type: Feature Request
I've come across this issue: #47879. In which there is described a functionality of typewriter mode. That was implemented, but IMHO it lacks one major feature. It resembles Vim's 'scrollOff' which is nice. What I think it is missing is virtual space before the first line. Using implemented feature gives an option to center edited line, but only if the edited file is above a certain line number threshold. What I would like to see is current functionality with mentioned virtual space—working with code with edited line always in dead center is unpleasant as well.
