We've tried this before; it's lengthy and has some dependencies, but CocoaPods was designed to build projects from source. We may want to look into it though as a way to work around #1426 if it's not fixed in CocoaPods before b1 launch.

Pushing this to b2 as we have a workaround for b1 in 4ec34cd now.

Not critical to b2, nor has anyone asked for it aside from indirect issues around precompiled size in #1633 & #1650.

Significantly simpler project, but here is a method for providing both source and binary installs — two separate pods:
