Usage of LUMASS can be roughly divided into 4 different categories:
1) As a modelling framework 2) For raster-based processing with atrribute tables (with SQLite support); similar to ArcGIS
* Similar/based off rasdaman http://www.rasdaman.org/ (?) project however Rasdaman requires DB server running 3) Spatial optimization 4) Possible to include/connect in LUMASS any external tools that are CLI based -- such as GDAL tools
Data in LUMASS
image data
database data
Models in LUMASS
lightweight
textfile
relatively small image (binary)
formats: YAML, XML
Models storage:
- possibly a repository to support versioning?
- challenge is to track the changes between models (XML support?)
- some binary files storage required
Some minimalist models to sit with the core code (in the main LUMASS repository); however some models require large datasets and these datasets should be stored elsewhere (DataStore?)
