In many applications, fully unitary fidelity is not necessary. Instead, one would want to map a subset of the basis (an array of initial states) to a set of target states (an array of final states). If the unitary sampling problem can also be compatible with this multiple-state fidelity problem, then one can use the sampling-based robust control for the multi-state fidelity problem. This would require combining (generalizing) the unitary sampling problem with the quantum state problem.
This feature would be really helpful in many cases!
