Crash on macOS while setting macOS "highlight colour" #9527

Overview

Selecting any "highlight colour" (under "general") in the macOS "System Preferences" app, crashes KeePassXC.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Open KeePassXC,
  2. Open macOS "System Preferences" app,
  3. Open the "General" section in "System Preferences",
  4. Select any option under "highlight colour",
  5. KeePassXC crashes.

KeePassXC - Version 2.7.5
Revision: 9d0537b

Qt 5.15.8
Debugging mode is disabled.

Operating system: macOS 12.6
CPU architecture: arm64
Kernel: darwin 21.6.0

Enabled extensions:

  • Auto-Type
  • Browser Integration
  • SSH Agent
  • KeeShare
  • YubiKey
  • Quick Unlock

Cryptographic libraries:

  • Botan 2.19.3

Operating System: macOS 12.6.5

I was able to replicate this crash but it appears to be happening in Qt / macOS code. I confirmed this is not caused by #8615

Another data point: also reproducible with
macOS 13.4.1
KeePassXC 2.7.5

This no longer happens on the latest KeePassXC and macOS
