Redesign-beta: Search field should not use auto-correct/spelling correction on iOS #945

I'm very happy with the new redesign-beta UI of finamp. However, I noticed one annoying issue. When I'm looking for a song, the titles are typically in English or consist of made-up words. That is annoying for me because my iOS spelling correction bullies me. Here is what I typically do:

  1. I know which song/album/artist I am looking for, say “Not sure yet”. So I start typing “yet” in the search box.
  2. Finamp lists the song I want, so I try selecting it from the list.
  3. In that instant, the spelling correction kicks in and corrects “yet” to the closest German word it finds.
  4. The list instantly updates to search for the new word and the song/album/artist I wanted to select disappears.

This also happens without any foreign language when there are made-up words concerned or I only enter part of a search term.

As far as I know, it is possible to mark a field such that iOS does not apply spelling correction to its contents. That would be the easiest fix, IMO.

Hey, this was already fixed in 2c72061 a while ago, and will be included with the next beta release! Should land sometime next week :)
