move islandora forms use cases here? #13
Comments
Depends on what group wants to take ownership of it. There is a blurry line right now between the MIG and the Fedora4 IG. The next step for the Google doc was to have a group merge any duplicate use cases. So, maybe that's something this group can do? |
More context on the purpose of that Google Doc here. |
Yeah, line between Fedora4 & MIG subgroups is going to remain a bit tenuous for time being. Sorry. We can bring this up as a first discussion point/action item for the Metadata Enhancements subgroup, namely, see if that subgroup wants to take over ownership of this work or build off of it in some other way. I'm also planning to sit on the next Fedora4 group call and get a feeling for where they'd like to see that work and other areas of possible overlap go (and try to decide how best MIG subgroups can support this work but remain metadata-focused). So lets leave this an open question until the Enhancements subgroup can discuss in the next few weeks or so. |
That document came out of a Fedora 4 IG meeting (06 & 06-special) because of this 7.x-2.x ticket. So, speaking as co-convenor of the Fedora 4 IG, the first course of action that needs to happen with that document is to clean it up, merge duplicates, group things together, etc. Then two IGs can communicate back with the larger Islandora community as to what work has been done, and organize a second Future of XML Forms call and work on figuring out how to proceed. I'll let @daniel-dgi (the other Fedora 4 IG co-convenor) chime in as well in case he has any thoughts. |
@ruebot thanks for this. What you propose makes sense. How could interested MIG folks best help with the existing doc clean up/merging work? Should we comment on proposed changes for clean up in that Google doc? |
I'd definitely take advantage of the commenting features of Google Docs to get consensus for clean up/merging work. |
could this be moved into the islandora MIG wiki? https://docs.google.com/document/d/1zkyy40v4lz03rpjpmVHWujU9LQcxrsA4EC75D1d7X7A/edit
