Some thoughts on the practicalities....

There are two categories of team members.

  • Members (actually called developers in the POM)
  • Contributors

Under members there will be anyone with direct commit privileges, past or present. Those that have moved on and no longer have active privileges will be marked with the role "(inactive)". If you don't want to be listed, please let me know!

Anyone contributing code, documentation or testing is eligible for the second category. However, you must raise your hand and ask to be on the list to have your contributions acknowledged in this way. You can just e-mail me or anyone else closely involved. You can also submit a pull request where you add an entry for yourself.

For members the following fields should be used:

  • name
  • url - should point at Github account (e.g. https://github.com/kris-sigur). The heading for this has been changed from "URL" to "Github Profile"
  • organization - The English form of your organizations name. In case of contractors, please use the organizations that is paying for your work.
  • organizationUrl - Please use this for the homepage of the organization referenced above.
  • Roles/role - May be omitted. Will likely evolve a bit over time

Other fields should not be used. It's just clutter on the page.

For contributors, it is sufficient to post your name (although you are welcome to provide additional data as per the members)

Should these instructions be added to the "How to contribute" section on the wiki?

@johnerikhalse Yes, a note should probably be added there when we close this issue.
