Icinga Version: 2.1.1

Hello,
i try to update icinga from 2.0.1 to version 2.1.1 on an actually SLES 11 SP3 X64 System, using the repository http://packages.icinga.org/SUSE/sles11-sp3/release/x86\_64/.

The actually version of python-base is today 2.6.9.0.27.1,
of python 2.6.9.0.27.1 and so on.

Starting the update, icinga 2 want to downgrade the python versions:

Problem: icinga2-2.1.1-1.x86_64 requires icinga2-bin = 2.1.1-1, but this requirement cannot be provided
uninstallable providers: icinga2-bin-2.1.1-1.x86_64[icinga2]
Solution 1: Following actions will be done:
downgrade of python-base-2.6.9-0.27.1.x86_64 to python-base-2.6.8-0.15.1.x86_64
downgrade of libpython2_6-1_0-2.6.9-0.27.1.x86_64 to libpython2_6-1_0-2.6.8-0.15.1.x86_64
downgrade of python-2.6.9-0.27.1.x86_64 to python-2.6.8-0.15.1.x86_64
downgrade of python-xml-2.6.9-0.27.1.x86_64 to python-xml-2.6.8-0.15.1.x86_64
Solution 2: do not install icinga2-2.1.1-1.x86_64
Solution 3: break icinga2-2.1.1-1.x86_64 by ignoring some of its dependencies

..but downgrading our sles11 server isn't a solution, ignoring the dependencies will install a defect system.

  • Status changed from New to Closed
  • Assigned to set to gbeutner
  • Target Version set to 2.2.0

This should be fixed in the latest snapshot (because we don't have Python as a dependency anymore).
